The Char Dham Yatra 2026 continues to witness an overwhelming response from devotees, with Badrinath Dham and Hemkund Sahib recording a significantly higher pilgrim turnout than during the corresponding period last year. As the annual pilgrimage enters its third month, thousands of pilgrims from across India and abroad are continuing the sacred journey whenever weather and road conditions permit.
According to figures released by temple authorities, 1,547,578 pilgrims have visited Badrinath Dham so far this season, compared with 1,215,612 during the same period in 2025—an increase of 331,966 devotees.
At Hemkund Sahib, pilgrim arrivals have also risen, with 219,379 devotees visiting the shrine this year, compared to 203,004 during the corresponding period last year, reflecting an increase of 16,375 pilgrims.
Despite the ongoing monsoon season, the Char Dham pilgrimage—which includes Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath—continues under close monitoring by the authorities. Pilgrim movement is being regulated based on weather forecasts, road conditions and safety advisories, with temporary restrictions imposed whenever required to ensure the safety of devotees.
The steady rise in pilgrim numbers underscores the enduring spiritual significance of the Himalayan shrines and reflects the unwavering faith of devotees undertaking one of India’s most revered religious journeys.
